Indian Ministry of communities drafted telecommunications bills.
This bill will help to update the 100 old telecommunications sector as now it has gone through several new developments.
Apps like WhatsApp, Skype, and Telegram will not have to obtain licenses.
They also need to fulfill all conditions of telegram services (TSPs) like Reliance, Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone.
Internet calling and real-time messaging are a huge competition with voice calls and SMS, which are important sources of income for TSPs.
Consumers will also need to mention their names with their numbers for making communication easier.
For showing advertisements the platforms need to get subscribers' approval first.
The user has to provide correct details, if one provides wrong information one has to pay a 50,000 rupee fine and their number will also get suspended.
